B&H Photo today. Funny… I didn’t order anything (recently). Much to my surprise and delight, they sent me a reivew copy of the new , Nikon’s stunning portrait lens. Nikon 105mm f/1.4E ED Nikkor

I’m going to find some subjects to test this lens on, but my first impressions are very positive. Focus is fast and precise. Bokeh is to die for, and it’s very sharp wide-open.

16-35mm f/4.0 AFS VR G zoom Nikkor lens last week, and I have done some preliminary testing. My basic tests fall into the following categories:

Both of these lenses are generally considered to be high-end “pro” glass, and they each cost significantly more than the 16-35mm VR.
